Integrated threat administration appliance (UTM: Unified Threat Management, “UTM”) is a product that integrate security functions such as firewall, VPN, intrusion detection and protection (IDS/IPS), gateway type anti-virus, anti-spam etc. Because its main function is firewall, you can take countermeasure for many firewall by simply installing in the same place as existing firewall.
UTM Function
UTM is to integrate many different security functions in the same hardware and administer network in the center (Unified Threat Management). Corporate network is challenged by new threats such as worm and virus that attack various vulnerabilities. In order to deal with these threats, comprehensive security measures must be taken.
