SBC Installation Case 1

Integration of Corporate Security and Improvement of Administration System at the Occasion of Office Merger

In case of a Japanese owned automobile parts manufacturer after merger with affiliate company, the number of users has increased drastically and the curnent system became difficult.

Introduction

The number of the curnent system user has increased from 30 to 70. This made it necessary to manage server resources and applications used by users.

In Installation

The curnent system has superior functions. However, during operation, there are some occasions in which its functions are not enough. For example, when multiple servers are used for operation, load might concentrate on specific servers. With SBC, resources such as CPU and RAM of all servers are monitored. This is how, when users log in, connections are made to the server which has the least load (Resource Load Balancer).
Application used by each user can also be controlled in administrator screen easily. This is how use of illegal license can be prevented or allowing to use only applications that are essential for business activities. Result

We used to monitor resources of servers and change connection to another server when a problem occurred or there was not enough resource in a server. Now, there is no need to monitor. Besides, because we can usage status of each user in detail, we can construct a highly efficient system by means such as assigning resources to users who really need to use applications.

SBC Installation Case 2

Switch to SBC from products of other companies

In case of a worldwide hotel chain whose base in located in Thailand. They used to use a Thin Client solution of other campany. in order to protect customer or corporate information and to use standardized operation standard.
However, they started considering shifting to SBC because of increase in costs because of expansion of the number of users.

Introduction

The campany used to use a Thin Client solution of other campany for 6 years. This is a Thin Client solution that has the largest number of users. This is why they have such a good knowledge of Thin Client environment that they could operate without support by vendors.
However, keeping up with the number of users that keeps increasing every year meant too high expenses to expand this solution further in the company.

In Installation

First, comparison was made betweenother campany’s solution and SBC.
It was found out thatother campany’s solution has more functions. However, from the past experience, The campany picked up functions that are really necessary and came to the conclusion that SBC include all of the necessary functions. Besides, in terms of cost reduction, which was the biggest issue, license price of SBC was less than half compared withother campany’s solution. This was Quite satisfactory for the customer.

Result

The campany has a plan to utilize SBC in order to expand users in Thailand and overseas.
Mainly, they are aiming to centralizing management of accounting process and management of remote branches by using servers in Thailand.
Now, a centralized management system that uses SBC in the head office in Bangkok in already put in place. We have received a comment from customers, which says “Quite easy to expand both in functional and financial term”.
